Notes: | Label source: Close to the main road running south from Tuxtla Gutierrez towards Concordia and Revolucion Mexicana about 5km south of the small village of Narcisco Mendoza in the central depression of Chiapas. Medium-sized to large tree to 20m ht. with a, n upright high angle branching habit and a spreading crown DBH 80cm. Outer bark whitish silvery grey, thin and papery with very shallow vertical fissures and occasional knob-like protruberences, inner bark bright green then orange-pink with a strong smell, of garden peas. Ripe pods mainly shedding and widely scattered beneath the tree, dehiscing slowly after shedding. Trees mainly leafless. Locally common otherwise rare and very scattered; this area a small relic stand of dry deciduous forest with Enterolo, bium cyclocarpum, Prosopis laevigata and Leucaena collinsii. |
