| Notes: | Label source: Close to the main road running west from Salina Cruz towards Pochutla between the villages of Santiago Astata and Santa Maria Huamelula about 50 km west of Salina Cruz in low hills about 10km inland from the Pacific coast. Medium-sized tree, to 20m ht. with heavy branching from 4m ht. and a spreading crown reminiscent of Enterolobium cyclocarpum. Bark golden yellowish grey, very smooth with a slightly powdery surface, inner bark green. Foliage recently flushed, rich mid green slightly glossy, above. Flower buds green, flowers apparently only lasting one or a few days then wilting; calyx and corolla green, stamen filaments, style and anthers pale creamy yellow. Ripe pods collected from ground below the tree, golden brown, dehisced with seeds p, esistent on separate pod valves. Common, scattered with Caesalpinia exostemma. C.pulcherrima, Gliricidia sepium, Bauhinia and Cordia. | ||||
