Notes: | Label source: Close to the main road running west from Puerto Escondido towards Pinotepa Nacional near the small village of Cacalote which lies about 15 km east of the town of Rio Grande on the narrow coastal plains south of the Sierra Madre del Sur abou, t 5km inland from the Pacific Coast. Medium-sized tree to 12m ht. with low angular branching and a spreading crown bark smooth, pale whitish grey, inner bark green. A few sweetly scented flowers mostly in bud; calyx and corolla mid pea green, stamen filam, ents white, anthers yellow, style white. Ripe dehiscing pods collected from below the tree, pale straw yellow to brown, seeds heavily predated by bruchids, pods tardily dehiscent along both margins. Loccaly frequent in heavily degraded dry deciduous fores, t with Senna, Albizia tomentosa, Leucaena lanceolata, Bauhinia, Caesalpinia and Gliricidia. |
