| Notes: | Trees of Brazil. Along road to Santa Cruz Cabralia. Sea level. Roadside ca 30m from beach. Open scrubby restinga. Shrub 2m, branching close to ground, 10cm diam at base. Bark brown, mottled grey-brown, fissuring vertically, flaking slightly. Sla, sh buff 1-2mm, then pale; brown 1-2mm, slight red exudate from border between these layers. Wood quite soft with concentric rings of buff and brown with balck ring at centre producing a small amount of exudate. Fruit 6 - 6.5 cm long, 3-5cm high, 2.5-4, cm wide, green v. sl. glaucous; mesocarp pale green, fibrous, moist and easily cut with a fingernail; endocarp woody. Voucher for cp DNA study.
