Notes: | Label source: Sample of 'Sarghina' roots from Morocco. Aaron Afriat & Co 59 Mark Lane EC 3 The specimens have been identified as the 'roots' (ie the under ground parts, consisting chiefly of root) of C.littoralis L. (incl C.telephiifolia, Pourr. ) LAB 6., 6.18 Letter 241,1918 : XII p.106 dated June 7th 1918, Messrs Aaron Afriat & Co Ltd, acknowledge the receipt of their letter of the 31st ultimo and in relpy to say that the sample of 'Sarghina' from Morocco, submitted for identification appears to be the r, oot of C.littoralis (Syn C.telephiifolia). On a similar specimen in the Museum at kew it is stated.- 'Exported from Tangier to Algiers, Tunis, Tripoli and Egypt, for use as incense and as a yellow dye.' |
