Notes: Label source: Also Ipomea simulans or Tampico jalap Indian Aconite root (A.ferox Wall.) is much larger than the English, measuring frequently 6 inches in length and 1 1/2 inches in thickness near the crown; it is crowned with the remains of a bud and isc, oarsely wrinkled, the outer portions often separating from the inner portion, which is yellowish and horny. This horny character is due to the starch having been completely gelatinised by the prolonged application of heat. The drug contains a toxic alkalo, id, pseudaconitine.
