Notes: | Label source: Extract from letter from J Jones to Director, from Botanic Station Dominica, 2nd August, 1897: Seeds of another forest tree of Dominica known as Pain d'epice it is a large tree and the fruit is sometimes eaten but it is certainly a very po, or fruit. Mr Hart in his Report for 1896 speaks of a tree in Trinidad known under the above name and he says it is Lucuma multiflora. Penny a piece applied to L multiflora in Dominica and other West Indian Islands. Referred to in Herb sheets and also i, n description of the plant in Icones Plantanum. Plate 2498. | ||||
