Notes: | Label source: Sample sent to Ide and Christy for report. Oct. 18. 1890. F.C. Constable Esq. ' a new fibre from Sind. Plant not known. Large quantities can be easily raised in Sind.' After Hydrolysis ? ? methol. Cellulose 70 % Ultimate fibre length 21 mm?, Rec'd. Oct 29 1890. Reported upon by Ide & Christy 20th Oct 1890: Quite a novelty and hence difficult to isolate. Commercially it would certainly find buyers in our market. It would be advisable that ??? shipment of 10 - 15 tons be made. It might command, anything from 15 to 28 pounds sterling per ton in London. Might ? ? compete with Italian Hemp. |
