Notes: | Label source: Drawing by Miss Ormerod Opuscular source: From Miss Eleanor Ormerod, Dunster Lodge, Spring Grove, Isleworth, Oct 15, 1880. Dear Mr Jackson, I trust you have not thought I was negligent in not answering sooner but I could not make out the, gall satisfactorily. It seems to be a var of Cynips collari, but as Mr Fitch was coming here I put off replying to hear his opinion. He also thinks it resembles collari. I will not fail to let you know whatever I hear about it. I hope presently to be, able to tell the name of the Tansy gall fly for Mr Fitch has reared a number and sent some to Dr Meyer for identification. You will always understand that if I do not reply at once it is because I am endeavouring to gain information. I should greatly reg, ret to seem inattentive. Yours very truly |
