Notes: | Label source: On the eastern slopes of the Sierra Mazateca above the Tehuacan valley, on the road running east into the mountains from Coxcatlan towards Zoquitland and Coyomeapan about 3km from Coxcatlan. Small branchy tree to 5m ht with an open crown. B, ark shiny metallic grey, slightly corky inner bark deep green then cream streaked deep salmon pink. Foliage on reddish brown subangular shoots with a mid green rachis and a pronounced reddish pulvinus. Ripe pods tardily dehiscent and shedding deep orange, brown, shiny and almost septate reminiscent of Leucaena greggii. Locally common, a few trees scattered on steep rocky slopes in highly degraded dry thorn scrub with Lysiloma, Ipomea and cactus. |
