Notes: | Label source: Close to main road running west from Puerto Escondido towards Pinotepa Nacional near the small village of Cacalote which lies about 15km east of the small town of Rio Grande on the narrow coastal plains south of the Sierra Madre del Sur abo, ut 3km inland from the Pacific coast. Medium-sized multiple-stemmed tree to 15m ht. with heavy branching and a spreading crown. Bark smooth, pale grey mottled darker with lichen, inner bark green smelling of garden peas. Foliage slightly discolourous, mid, green above paler below ripe and unripe pods turning from green to orange-brown when ripe. Seed heavily predated by insects. Common, scattered across dry flood plain with sandy soils with Leucaena lanceolata, Senna, Caesalpinia, Guazuma and Albizia occid, entalis. |
