Notes: | Label source: Dept: Huehuetenango. Close to the road running N from the small village of Camoja Grande towards Nenton about 6km from Camoja in what is an extension of the central depression of Chiapas in Mexico. Medium-sized tree to 12m ht. with an ope, n fan shaped crown and heavy branching; dbh 25cm. Bark dark brownish grey, slight vertical fissuring, inner bark very pale cream pink with some clear brown gum exudation. Leaves very recently flushed and highly immature with pronounced mound shaped green, petiolar glands, 1-2 per leaf. Ripe pods shedding. Infrequent, scattered in highly disturbed dry deciduous forest with Swietenia humilis, Calicophyllum candidissimum, Guazuma ulmifolia, Piptadenia viridiflora and Acacia pennatula. |
