Notes: | Label source: Found in moist woods and swamps, grows to the height of 60 to 70 feet, with a diameter of 2 feet; the wood is tough and elastic, but much less durable than white ash; the young saplings are in great requistion for hoops, and mature trunks f, or baskets. The timber is very durable under water. Specific gravity 0.7; weight of cubic foot 40 lbs. |
