Dear Sir Joseph, The enclosed is the small specimen of the swamp ash which I promised you when in Canada, two years ago I was informed by a builder, who was using the wood fort, he finishing of a large office, that until a year or two before that it was reckoned only third class firewood but that by the use of Wheelers filler it could be used for high class finishing as I saw.
