Notes: | Label source: Pinkish brown coloured close textured wood, usually without any distinctive figure. It planes and works well, is readily polished, and has a good reputation for durability. Used for gen. building purposes, fruit cases, oyster stakes etc.T, hough common along the coast of NSW and Queensland. Trees are frequently gnarled and twisted, and the logs are usually faulty. For these reasons it is not largely milled. Lighter coloured sapwood is occasionally attacked by the Powder Post Borer. Flouris, hes on the edge of brackish swamps, reaching 50 ft and a girth of about 7 ft. Hard, 43-52lb per cu ft. |
