Notes: | The wood/bark samples were sent to Barbara Bull, Lyme Regis in 2003 and she sent dye samples back to David Hill in Oct 2003.x0Dx0AThe trials included different yarn samples (wool and cotton) and substantive, and with Cr, Sn, Cu, Fe, and Al mordantsx0Dx0ADavid Hil, l comments on the dye samples (pers. comm.) - Ceriops tagal (syn. Ceriops candolleana) was formerly used to dye sails of ships brown (good results obtained from the sample). Results obtained for Rhizophora (brown shades) and Vitex (yellow shades) were a, s expected. However, the results for Morinda were not as expected, possibly as they were such old samples. | ||||
