Notes: Label source: A pale to faint reddish brown coloured timber, similar to the Stringybarks but rather more open textured. The structure and appearance of the wood may be mistaken for light coloured Spotted Gum (Eucalyptus maculata). Straight-grained, occas, ionally attacked by the Powder Post Borer (Lyctus sp). The timber is stated to be durable and is used for fencing, rough buildings, panelling, bullock yokes, boat planking, carriage and wheelwrights' work and fuel, rarely milled. Short boled, with spreadi, ng, gnarled, twisted branches reaching a height of about 60 feet and a girth of 7 feet. Widely distributed, occurring in the south east corner of Queensland, extending southwards to the Illawarra district and inland to the Bathurst-New England districts,, New South Wales. H = Moderately hard. W = 48 - 58 lbs per cubic Ft.
