Notes: | Label with model: thatching trial to illustrate the stacked thatch - should be parings of the outer bark - the sample is incorrect tn that only some of it consists of parings but can be corrected in the final item. The top thatch which performs the weat, hering of the roof edge is correct except for slight misalignment (correct line has been pencilled on the thin matchboards). Bamboo nails have been used as on the original in fixing the bark, which is the 2mm skin left after the more fibrous outer layers, have been pared away. |
