Bark mid grey-brown, smooth, striped rusty brown, inner bark salmon pink. Leaves at all stages of matur, ity, slightly discolourous, petiolar gland green tinged reddish and turning brown with age. Flower heads in leaf axils, pedicel flattened and tinged maroon, a few incipient ''double'' flower heads. Calyx pale creamy green, corolla mid green tinged maroon,, style and stamens creamy white, anthers pale orange brown apparently no pollen, very few pods, glossy green tinged maroon with no seed set.x0Dx0Ax0Dx0AInfrequent or rare, the only tree noted in the area, growing near house with Leucaena leucocephala, L. esculent, a, Lonchocarpus hidalgensis, Guazuma ulmifolia, Pithecellobium dulce, Guava and Jacaranda.x0Dx0Ax0Dx0APutative L. esculenta x L.
