Petén, northern shore of Lago Petén Itza, ca 6km W of La Reforma on the main Santa Elena-Tikal road.x0Dx0Ax0Dx0ALakeside patch of degraded forest with much secondary growth. Associated genere: Muntigia,, Cedrella and Piscidia.x0Dx0Ax0Dx0ATree to 14m, DBH 25cm. Bark greyish white , vertically fissured and flaking in vertical ± rectangular chunks. Outer slash white with a tinge of pink, inner slash creamish yellow. Crown narrow, inverted cone-shape, fairly open bu, t foliage on sub-crowns quite dense. Foliage discolourous, dark glossy green above, paler and dull below. Old fruits mainly persisting on tree, orangish brown, seeds mainly rotted or insect predated.
