Notes: | Chinese carving of Her Her twins with toad and lotus flower. Twins represent harmony and agreement. Lotus and box (held by the twins) are a play on the sound of the Chinese words for peace and harmony. Bought from a carver in Beijing by Roland and Guat Ch, eng Himmeler in 1998, and donated to Kew in 1999. |
