Notes: | Coat known as 'suot' or 'vakol'. Woven from shredded juvenile leaves (sun dried). Also used on sunny days for working in the fields. Also bought by tourists (either full size coats or small model coats) as souvenirs. Worn by the inhabitants of Sabtang, and Batan Islands, Batanes, Philippines. Coat was John Dransfields private collection, now in need of conservation. Strapping foundation for the coat is made from the leafstalks of Musa textilis Nee.
