Notes: | Collected by Roddy Jones on Jebel Shams, beyond Dar Sawda. Mountains of N Oman. Fashioned by collector for own use. Plant of mountain Oman whose range is restricted in Arabia to the mountains of al-Hajar. A large shrub that sometimes achieves the satu, re of a small tree. It is never really dominanat in the vegetation, but is very well-known for its sweet berry like fruits that provide a refreshing mouthful for passing herdsmen or travellers. Nimt is most often seen at highter altitudes above about 20, 00 metres. |
