Notes: | The Chinese name is Chiang Hsiang (Chinese characters). Williams in his commercial guide says this Chinese name is applied to Lakar and ? majin (a tree of Sumatra) but Bretschneider says this name does not occur in botanical works and quotes from the Penk, 'ar (?) that Chiang Hsiang is a red fragrant wood brought to China from the Malay Archipelago. The following woods are also mentioned in the Chinese tariff.
