Tree 30m x 70cm diameter, steem simple buttresses to 1m, bole cylindric, bark reddish-brown, scaling in large thin irregular plates, slash 9mm, dark red, red exudate, clear bole 20m, crown of ascending branches, fruit pendul, ous, glaucous-green, some with straight margin, others strongly constricted between seeds. seed with thin white sarcotesta.
