Notes: | Label source: Indian madder or manjit root, is obtained from the roots and lower or ground twigs of Rubia cordifolia, a herbaceous creeper found throughout the hilly districts of the Indian subcontinent and in the Far East. The colours produced are scar, let, mauve or coffee brown. They are brighter but more fleeting, than those produced by the European madder. |
