Notes: | Label source: Annatto is produced from the seeds of a small tree, Bixa orellana. It is native to tropical America but has spread throughout much of the tropics. The dye, which can produce both red and orange shades in cotton and silk, unfortunately fad, es quickly. The Indians of Central America used it as a body paint. Its chief use now is to colour margarine. |
