Massaranduba the name same as Masarandiba vermelho or red in Mr Taylor's Colln., comes from Para, it is a kind of cherry tree of Brazil, like ours, except that the fruit is not round, & contains ave, ry hard kernel full of a milky substance, agreeable & used by the inhabitants as a remedy for the cough, hoarseness, or complaints of the throat & chest. It is used for building; & has no resemblance to Masarandygo. |
