Notes: | Label source: See note books in Archives from Bowes for details. Sent by Sylveira rec'd from Lisbon (from note book) The several sorts of Louro are very different in their appearance & colour, they all come from Brazil & I am uncertain if the name allude, s to their colours: flaxen or to the nature of the tree laurel. The Barruga is the darkest and hardest. They are common & used in divers ordinary works. |
