| Notes: | Label source: Specimens consist of one or two species of Berberis probably B vulgaris and lycium, used in N India in billious complaints and as a febrifuge. It is described by Dymock in Materia Medica of W India. and by Dr G Watt in Dict of Econ product, s of India. Shirkisht is a white saccharin substance, classed as a manna, and is believed to be the produce of Cotoneaster nummularia, Fisch and May. It is of rare occurrence in commerce.
