Notes: Label source: Specimens consist of one or two species of Berberis probably B vulgaris and lycium, used in N India in billious complaints and as a febrifuge. It is described by Dymock in Materia Medica of W India. and by Dr G Watt in Dict of Econ product, s of India. Shirkisht is a white saccharin substance, classed as a manna, and is believed to be the produce of Cotoneaster nummularia, Fisch and May. It is of rare occurrence in commerce. These drugs were exported from Kurrachee to London as trial sampl, es only.
