Notes: | Label source: Several species - the extract is Rusot, the fruit is Zirishk. Darhalad occurs in pieces one or two inches in diam, covered by a soft corky light brown bark, beneath this is a hard layer of stony cells, forming a complete coating of the ste, m; this layer is marked by longitudinal furrows corresponding to the medullary rays, which are very prominent and close grained, and contain many stony cells. Rusot is a dark brown extract of the consistency of opium, having a bitter and astringent taste, , readily soluble in water partly so in recitified spirit, forming rich yellowish brown solutions which become bright yellow when diluted.
