Acknowledge the receipt of their letter of the 11th instant and in reply to say that the sample of 'Bohitillo' seed from Peru, submitted for identification appears to be that of a, species of Cochlospermum. There is no information available to show that the seeds of this genus are poisonous nor anything to favour their recommendation for feeding cattle. Prehaps Mr Alfred Smetham, F.I.C. 59 Victoria Street, Liverpool who is a cattle, food expert, would give an opinion as to the value in this respect. |
