Notes: | Label source: Bark of Pittosporum floribundum, see a supposed Beilschmiedea bark, Pharm Jour Mar 12 1904 p.365. 'Mr Holland of the Kew Museum confirmed Mr Holmes remarks. That afternoon he had compared the bark with the Kew specimen of Pittosporum florib, undum under a lens and the two species appeared to be almost identical.' 'Prof Greenish was a little sceptical whether the bark was rightly referred to P. floribundum until he had a chance of comparing authentic specimens. ' Extracts from Pharm Journ. A, further and more critical microscopical examination of the bark proved beyond doubt that it was P. floribundum; compared with a specimen of Mr Gambles 4836 in the the Museum. A small piece of this specimen was also sent to Prof Greenish for comparison wh, o later in the course of conversation at the Museum here quite agreed in the above determination . JHH April 20 1904 |
