Notes: | Label source: Extract of letter to Director dated Bot dept, Trinidad, 16.8.00 Herewith I send you a lump of resinous gum which is extracted from Vismia cayennensis and V ferruginea. It is called gamboge and may be that gamboge referred to by Mr Lodge i, n his late report. This tree is one of the bloodwoods of Trinidad. The matter is easily soluble in Chloroform and alcohol and partly in water. Rubbed up in water the gum shows the Brownian movement? | ||||
