Notes: | Opuscular source: Note D6481/54/M Dear Sirs, I have received your letter of 28th August enclosing seeds under the name of Illipe for ident. There is confusion as you point out in the use of this name. The sample which you sent consists of the kernels o, f a sp of Shorea and agrees well with our specimens of S. stenoptera, the source of Borneo tallow. The meal left after extraction of the oil was analysed some 30 years ago at the Imp Inst and was about 11% protein - a suitable feed, though less valuable, than palm kernel cake. |
