Notes: | Label source: The root of this plant is in general use as a diuretic and demulcent; it can hardly be classed as a bitter. I found it in all the Goa shops. It appears to be more used there than in Bombay. The root is small woody and fibrous, the stock not, more than 1/4 of an inch in diameter. The bark is of a light yellowish brown colour. Sida cordifolia is sometimes used for the same purpose. The lower part of the stem with a few leaves attached may always be found in parcels of these drugs and enables t, hem to be distinguished one from the other. Sida acuta has smooth lanceolate and serrated leaves, Sida cordifolia cordate and tomentose leaves. |
