The material received for ident is very fragmentary but there can be little doubt that it is S cordifolia L. This sp is common in waste places and roadsides in Brazil and is employed medicinally for its emollient prop, erties (Martius, Flora Brasiliensis, vol xii, pars iii p 592) No record of S cordifolia as possessing deleterious properties has been found. |
