Notes: Label source: Letter dated 26.iii.30, Dear Sir, I beg to acknowledge the receipt of your letter of the 22nd inst and in reply to say that the so-called 'Sudanese Tea' from Egypt, submitted for identification, appears to consist of the ripe fleshy calyc, es of H.subdariffa, cultivated in most tropical countries. The calyces are commonly used for making jellies and preserves and a beverage is also made from them. The shrub is known as 'Rozelle', 'Red Sorrel' and 'Indian Sorrel' Yours Faithfully Director.
