Notes: | Label source: The Kura Loa as a shrub or small tree that grows in the bush open spaces and on creek banks. It flowers in January and well into May. It has cream-like blossoms and these are still to be found as late as June and as early as October. Seedsa, re often found in March at Ruku Ruka Bay, Vanua Levu. The leaves of the Kura Loa are cordate, slightly serrated and feather veined and have long petioles. The flowers have 5 petals with stamens exserted and are borne in loose panicles. The calyx is cup-s, haped. The fruit is a rich red. The leaves are used by the Kai Viti medicinally, mostly for the cure of indigestion for which purpose they chew them and put the pulp in water, which is then drunk.
