Notes: Label source: Hiawa grows plentifully in Essequebo in loose sandy soil, its wood is little used as it decays rapidly on exposure to the weather. Like oolu (No51) it has a strong aromatic scent, is light and should be useful for drawers and wardrobe shelv, es. This tree produces the gum known as 'Hiawa' or resin of Conima which is burnt as incense.
