Notes: Opuscular source: India Museum Exhibition Road S.W. Dear Sir, I send you the only small sample we have of Kundroos or Salai Gum which is referred to as Boswellia it is from Coimbatore. Most of the Olibanum which we receive from India is undoubtedly impo, rted from Arabia. You are doubtless aware that Dr Birdwood is of the opinion that none of the gum resin of the Bazaar called Kundur is of Indian origin. Some Kundroos is clearly only the resin of Valeria indica and Luban is applied to Benzoin and also th, e resin of such coniferous trees as Pinus longifolia obtained by a rough process of distillation.
