Notes: | Label source: Package A contains raw seeds. They are named Ipemioia in Cyprus and in the Island of Chio where they are produced and used in large quantities for condiments etc, and known under the name Tolkovoa? From these seeds in Paphos an edible oil, is extracted. A white resin is obtained by tapping in Paphos in the spring. This rosine after being purified and bleached by boiling with water is used for chewing instead of the mastic of chio. (Letter from P Gennadius Dated Jan 14th 1904.) |
