Notes: | Opuscular source: Mr Holland - This agrees well with the gum from A occidentale, described by Wisnor? under the name Cashewagummi, Acajou gummi, from Martonique, Guadaloupe and Brazil. In physical and chemical properties, the gum is similar to that of A, cacia spp. That part of the gum which is soluble in water consists of arabin and dextrin, and contains 1.5% sugar. The gum contains 17.29 per cent of water and yields 1.22 per cent of ash. CRM 13.1.32 |
