Notes: Opuscular source: Letter M687/27, 1st Oct 1927, from Secretary, Brit Tanners Ltd, 67 Dale St, Liverpool. Dear Sir, We are very much obliged by your letter of yesterday relative to the C digyna and thank you for the information that the Imp Inst has acon, signment of pods from the Forest Dept of Burma which have shown as hgih a percentage of tannin as 60%. Part of the sample which was sent to you was analysed in one of our labs and the whole beans with the seeds only gave 20. 7% of tan. but with the seeds, extracted and the beans crushed the percentage was 43.6%. Opuscular source: From JHH 3.x.27. The sample they believed came from Rangoon 27.09.27. They stated 'We have regular deliveries of Divi divi from Curacao and Maracaibo and occasional deliverie, s from Madras, but we have never had any similar to the sample which we sent to you.'
