Notes: | Label source: Sir H H Johnston H M Commissioner & Consul General. Said by the natives to furnish a remarkable cure for syphilis. 'Chebweri' in the Shikunda dialect. The method of preparing it is to put the bark after being rubbed free of dirt into water, and allowing it to soak, after this they take the root, dry in the sun or over a fire and powder fine. They wash the parts affected with the water & then sprinkle the powder over the venereal sore. | ||||
