Notes: Label source: Letter 49.1919 : xii p.195 dated March 7th 1919 - The Director, The Stud Co (Manchester) acknowledge the receipt of his letter of the 27th ultim together with a sample of Mangrove bark from Australia. There appears to be no information ava, ilable as to the use of Mangrove bark in cattle foods ; but in 'Pharmaceutical Journal' June 24th 1911 p.843, various medicinal uses are mentioned and it is stated that 'Mangrove is valued in the colonies as an astringent in lotions and for eye troubles ;, internally it is used in diarrhoea and for tuberculosis, while the powdered bark is used as a febrifuge'. Some particulars of Mangrove bark in Queensland, including an analysis of a sample of bark from Cairns are given in Bulletin of the Imp Inst, No 4, Jan 1905 pp 276-278 (Mr John Murray Albemarle St London.)
