Notes: | Label source: Registration No 10247, File No 61 Letter from Leather Industries Lab, The Yorkshire College Leeds dated 7th April 1899 to John R Jackson, RBG Kew - Dear Sir I beg to inform you that the following are the results of analysis of your sampleo, f leaves of T.oliveri marked from Mandalay according to the method of the International Ass of Leather Trade Chemists Tanning matters absorbed by the hide 14.4% Soluble non-tanning matters 12.2% Insoluble (at 60 deg.Fah.) 64.5% Water 8.9%. The colour o, f a solution containing 0.5% of tanning matter as determined by above analysis measured by the tinctometer in a cell 1 ccentimeter thick is red, yellow, black, and a sample of leather tanned in 1% soloution is annexed.
