Notes: | Label source: Carried by Bats. Col Fieldon ...58B.1889 JH Hart... 95.1896 Opuscular source: Copy: Botanical Dept. Trinidad, July 30th 1896. Sir, The seed you send for determination is that of Eugenia sinemariensis Aubl. I will remember the circumstance, of calling Col Fieldings attention to the fruit in question and at that time I did not know the tree producing it, as it was always without the pericarp. This name is given to the specimen taken from the tree which produced the fruit by RAR in sets forwa, rded to Kew; but it certainly would be a stretch to make it agree with Aublets figure of that species. I send you a like specimen. xxx (Signed) J.H.Hart. The seed that is cut in half was sent by Mr Hart for determination. |
