The most likely position would be Myrtaceae somewhere near Grias but I cannot find anything like them. J.A.S., 4/6/23. Label source: June 15th 1923. Messre Grace Brothers & Co. Liverpool. Inform them that the 'Cacahuillo' fruits from Iquitos, Peru, submitted for identification appear to belong to Myrtaceae near Grias. He regrets it has not been possible to name, them specifically for which it would be necessary to have more material including flowers, & leaves if possible. If their correspondents could supply these he would be glad to examine them with a view to a more accurate determination. The specimens desire, d would carry well, packed for post in stout cardboard, first being dried and pressed between sheets of coarse paper. |
