Specimens of the erect aerating roots, which are used by the natives in the Southern Provinces of Ceylon for making cobra models. Opuscular source: No 42, , From the Director of RBG Deradenga Ceylon to the Curator of the Museum RBG Kew dated April 15 1898 on Sonneratia roots. Sir, I have honour to state I am sending to you in a parcel addressed to the Director, RBG Kew, specimens of the erect aerial roots, of S.acida, obtained from the Mangrove swamps at Kalutara Ceylon.
